The Arab Spring hit Egypt's travel industry very hard. Until 2011, the country of sand and pyramids was visited annually by 15 million people. The revolution helped reduce tourist flow by almost a third. Now Egypt annually began to visit only 11 million people, and this number is rapidly falling. The explosion of a passenger plane completely kills tourism in this country.

This does not mean that there are no tourists in the hotels of Egypt. They are, but the number of rooms is not filled by more than 22%. The ban on flights to Egypt is valid in Russia and the UK, but this was enough to completely bring down several sectors of the country's economy. So many tourist centers become ghost towns.
