Casio Introduces EDIFICE Watch with Integrated Globe Dial

The model connects to a smartphone, supports a new system of exact time and effectively displays world time.

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. Introduces EQB-600D, the new watch from the high-end EDIFICE series, combining dynamic design and innovative technology The EQB-600D connects to a smartphone and is equipped with a new built-in three-dimensional dial in the form of a globe - thereby taking the next step in the original display of world time.

Casio has developed the Global Time Sync concept for the development of analogue clocks in areas that meet the requirements of globalization. Within the framework of the concept, G-SHOCK and OCEANUS models with GPS and radio synchronization modules for receiving GPS satellite signals and adjusting the time by radio towers were released, as well as the EDIFICE model, which connects to a smartphone to display time in 300 cities around the world. EDIFICE watches are rapidly gaining popularity as a chronograph, correctly displaying time anywhere in the world.

The built-in domed three-dimensional dial-globe displays the world time in an original way and aesthetically emphasizes the functionality of the EQB-600D. A detailed image of the planet is made using advanced casting techniques at Yamagata Casio Co., Ltd. - Casio's manufacturing base in Japan. Thanks to the polarized spraying, the color of the dial changes depending on the viewing angle, thereby giving the watch a special sophistication.

The three-dimensional dial-globe functions in conjunction with the world time indicator at the 8 o'clock position and, like the Earth, slowly rotates in 24 hours. The curved hand of a three-dimensional dial not only indicates the time zone of the current city. When it is in the upper half of the globe, this means that it is night in the time zone (from 18:00 to 6:00), and when in the lower, it is day (from 6:00 to 18:00). Thus, in addition to the exact time, the time of day is clearly displayed.

Casio has developed the Accurate Time System, which expands the ability to configure the EQB-600D when connected to a smartphone through the special CASIO Watch + application. The system connects to special Internet servers for determining the time and, based on location data, receives information about the exact time in the current time zone and daylight saving time.

The innovative EDIFICE EQB-600D precision watch indicators represent the continuity of the passage of time throughout the Earth.
