Amazing shots of the "evil streets" of New York in the 1970s and 80s

The famous photographer Edward Grazda began his career in New York not in the best times of this magnificent city. His black and white shots of the "evil streets" offer us a conscious and elegant look at that desolate era of one of the largest American cities. In the period of the subsequent financial upsurge, this New York practically disappeared, but the features of the previous character left indelible scars on the body of the city.

About forty years ago, New York authorities found themselves on the edge of the abyss. The government of the metropolis, having become bankrupt, sold its powers to banking institutions. Those, in turn, “tightened the belt” to the city as much as possible, destroying the social support system. The streets were thrown to the mercy of scammers and the homeless. New York was plunged into the darkness of poverty and banditry.
