A new research center will be built in Japan to launch robots into space

Modern architectural objects that amaze the imagination are not alien to traditional Japan. Recently, a very original project of the space research center was presented, which they plan to build in an artificial crater, attaching it to the edge with massive cables. The center will become part of a large-scale project called Avatar X, which involves the use of robots for space exploration.

The unusual center will be located in Oita Prefecture in the south-west of the country, and the Clouds Architecture Office became the author of the project.

The building of the space research center will, as it were, hang in the air above an artificial crater, and you can get inside using a small suspension bridge. The steel center will hold the space center, and the structure itself will be made of lightweight innovative materials. The building frame is planned to be made of carbon fiber, and the ceilings are made of aluminum blocks. The building will be finished with composite materials using plastic.

The new center will be part of a large-scale complex built in collaboration between two well-known corporations: the Japanese airline ANA and the Japanese aerospace research agency JAXA. Japan, as you know, has the most advanced technology in the field of robotics. And the new Avatar “X” complex sets itself ambitious goals. It is planned that programs related to the use of robots for space exploration will be implemented here. The authors of the project believe that in the future people will be able to refuse risky flights into space and they will be replaced by robotic systems. The astronauts do not have to fly to the moon or Mars, robots will do it instead. The first tests of astronaut robots are scheduled for 2019.
