Gorgeous butterfly wings close-ups showing the elusive beauty

We can often observe the beauty of butterflies only for a short time or from a great distance. However, photographer Chris Perani manages to capture these charming insects from a very close range and with incredible detail. His stunning series of macro shots showcase the microscopic details of butterfly wings, their gorgeous, vibrant colors and abstract patterns.

To achieve the desired effect, Perani uses the optics of a 10x magnification microscope attached to the lens, which creates a practically non-existent depth of field. Even making one shot is very difficult, but look at the result! It is worth all the effort.
