A unique experience will be immersion in a lava pipe - the cave of Cueva del Viento (Viento Sobrado), or the Cave of the Wind, in the northern part of the island under the town of Icod de los Vinos. It is the largest volcanic cave in Europe and the fifth largest in the world. At the moment, 17 km of the cave, which has many underground passages and galleries, have been examined. Scientists have found that it was formed as a result of the eruption about 27 thousand years ago.

Into the sky

If caving and canyoning seem a little too mundane, pay attention to the fun under the clouds. Due to the mild climate and the features of the air flow over the island, Tenerife is one of the leading European paragliding centers. There are more than fifty points for a great start. The best places for paragliding: Los Realejos in the north of Tenerife, Adeje in the southwest, Guimar in the east.

Popular launching sites: Ladera de Guimar, Fasnia, Izanya, La Corona, Ifonche and Taucho. You can fly a paraglider throughout the year, although for each zone there are small restrictions depending on weather conditions and time of day. For experienced pilots, the recommended period is from October to May.

To water, to water and under water

Firstly, boat trips on yachts and boats will give a new look at island life, allowing you to admire the large marine mammals and colorful fish that live near Tenerife. More than 21 species of cetaceans live in these waters! Secondly, due to light winds, the island of Tenerife is an amazing place for windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing. The eastern and southeastern parts of the island are considered more windy, there are many moorings and they are scattered throughout the island, so it will be easy to moor.

You will find impressive landscapes of cliffs, caves and natural bays formed as a result of a volcanic eruption, sanded by wind and sea water. Curious tourists can look under the water to get an idea of ​​the rich underwater life of the Atlantic Ocean. In Tenerife, there are about 60 busy dive sites suitable for both beginners and experienced divers. At any time of the year, the best of them will have good visibility at a depth of 30 meters, although there are many interesting places at a depth of 45-50 meters.

Sea turtles and stingrays live in the water column, big-eyed calaluf, mullet, striped granter, mackerel, sardines, lobsters, moray eels and many others. In addition, there are four wrecks near the island that are easy to explore while diving to a depth of only 20-30 meters.
